About Rage to Riches Slots

Rage to Riches from Play’n GO is not a new slot, but it was exclusive to just one casino for two years, only arriving at a favourite Play’n GO casino near you last year. This is not your typical Play’n GO slot. It’s not particularly beautiful in terms of graphics, but it’s a lot of fun to play. You get cascading reels, free spins and a bonus game with raging monsters that destroy the city. Especially the mini game is quite entertaining and certainly on the unusual side. Those of you who used to play the Sega Master System might recognize where they have gotten their inspiration from; RAMPAGE. Rage to Riches is definitely one of Play’n GO’s more unusual slots and we’re quite glad that it’s no longer exclusive to just one casino, but can be played in many places.

The slots look is rather cartoonish, which is not something we find often with Play’n GO slots. But the look of the slot really goes well with the theme. It’s essentially a creature feature B-movie kind of slot with giant monsters, a screaming blonde and lots of destruction. All those monsters are on the reels as well and so is the blonde lady, who stands in as the scatter. For once we don’t even mind the playing card symbols, because their graffiti style fits in well with the urban surroundings.

Rage to Riches is very well executed and the soundtrack makes for a good backdrop here, too. You also get some sound effects, especially when the monsters roar.

Whilst Rage to Riches comes with only 20 paylines, the slot is not very volatile at all. Wins are frequent, albeit small, and big wins are relatively rare, though not impossible.

Bonuses

This slot is pretty feature rich, which is why it is so entertaining and rarely gets boring. First of all you have the cascading reels. That means you get climbing multipliers on every consecutive win and further symbols tumbling onto the reels from above after winning combinations exploded to make room. Your standard multiplier is, of course, 1x, but from here it climbs to 2x, then 3x and finally 5x.

When three scatters fall anywhere on the reels, you’ll be awarded 10 free spins. All multipliers are doubled here and should you go three spins without a win, you’ll get free re-spins until such time that you get a win. Free spins can be re-triggered, though you can get a maximum of 50 free spins in one sitting.

The bonus game is a lot more fun than the free spins, mind you. Whenever you get the combination of 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace on the reels from left to right, you’ll be awarded a star. The meter to count those stars is above the reels on the left-hand side. Collect five stars and the bonus game is triggered.

You then get to choose your monster, but beware, because they each come with different multiplier options. Choose King Kong and you could win 5x to 50x your bet. The Godzilla type monster would give you 3x to 75x your bet and the giant werewolf comes between 1x and 100x your bet.

Your best bet here is the werewolf monster, because he can come with the biggest payouts. Once you’ve made your choice, your monster will appear before a number of high rise buildings. Pick one and the monster will commence to tear it down. Of course, there’ll be military intervention, which will weaken your monster. But whenever you find the screaming blonde woman in one of the buildings, your monster will eat her and regain some strength. Yes indeed, this one doesn’t pull any punches.

It’s quite possible to end up tearing down all the buildings before your monster gets killed by the soldiers. Either way, the feature ends with your monster getting killed or with the monster tearing down the buildings. The more destructive your monster is, the higher your wins will be.

Summary

Watching your chosen monster smashing those buildings never gets boring. It might be a bit childish, but it’s still a lot of fun. The free spins are boring in comparison, though your chances at solid wins are potentially better there. Still, this slot won’t eat up your budget and you’ll get to play free spins and mini games.

On top of that the RTP of Rage to Riches is fantastic, which means that there’s nothing really we don’t like about this slot. It’s the whole package: fun, entertaining, lasting and a winner. If you seek big wins, you may not like this one, though, and would have to look elsewhere.
