Graphically you’ll definitely want to check out Volcano Eruption. After all, how many slots do you know where a slot literally erupts in the middle of the screen. Visually this is definitely a bit of something here and one of the main draws of this slot. Of course, it’s been done quite nicely anyway. NextGen Gaming doesn’t always pay lots of attention to the visual effects, but here you get fantastic effects.
The setting of this volcano is not quite clear. It could be on a deserted island on the Pacific Rim or it could be in a land before our time. Beside card symbols, which are actually quite nicely done, you find some exotic plants and animals on the slot, which don’t define the theme any more specifically.
The soundtrack is a little bit generic and somewhat familiar NextGen Gaming slot, but that’s okay, it’s not boring and you’re kind of here for the volcano and its lava bombs anyway.
Bonuses
The main feature here is indeed the wild symbol, which is the volcano. It only appears on the three middle reels and if you get at least one wild on every one of them, the re-spin feature is triggered.
The volcano will expand on the middle reel and spit its lava bombs around on the reels. Those will then get splattered all over the reels and leave more wilds behind. The middle reel will continue to stay wild throughout the re-spins (or free spins if you prefer), but those extra lava bomb wilds won’t be hanging around all the time. They may be added on occasion, however.
You only get five re-spins at a time, but the feature shows up frequently enough to keep you topped up nicely. Wins are rarely huge, but if the feature hits early on, you won’t be disappointed. Extra wilds always help.
If you feel like taking a risk, you can always gamble your winnings again by guessing a card’s colour or suit, doubling or quadrupling your wins. Or losing all of it.

Summary
Volcano Eruption is a medium variance game at best. But it often plays at a lower variance. You will never go dry for long and seeing those wilds erupt from the lava flow is always nice.
Since the slot doesn’t really have much more to offer than that, you may find yourself bored at some point. It’s not a boring game by any means, but eventually you may seek out a bigger kick. Especially since this slot doesn’t bring truly big wins. It’s still fun whilst it lasts.
