About Monster Wins Slots

Monster Wins is on the more adorable side of slots that NextGen Gaming are offering. It’s also one of their newest slots and the first one on their slate that brings us 1,024 ways to win. The slot is colourful, cartoonish and the monsters are surprisingly friendly. In fact, you’ll be wanting for the big one, the boss monster, to show up as much as possible, because it brings the best wins of the entire game, whether in the base game or during free spins. This is a fun little slot you might want to know more about.

Monster Wins is one of NextGen’s cuter slots and thankfully not overloaded on the visual side. You’ll find yourself on an alien planet without a sun nearby but plenty of stars. In front of this background you’ll see five reels inhabited by monsters of all kinds. Apparently the more eyes and arms a monster has, the higher its status. Accordingly the one-eyed, tentacle-free monsters do look a little sad.

In order to offer us 1,024 ways to win, the slot comes with 5 reels and 4 rows, which is obviously not the norm. In the base game that means that the wins tend to be frequent, but also really quite insignificant.

The soundtrack is cheerful with a hint of creepy and it is fun to see the monsters get tossed of the reels when the boss monster tentacle hits them to replace them. In that regard the slot manages to entertain regardless of the wins you score. But when a tentacle hits the reels, you’ll find there will always be some wins to look forward to.

Bonuses

There are three symbols to look out for in the base game and the bonus game. First you’ll have the wild symbol, which appears on reels 2 to 5. It replaces all other symbols safe for the bonus symbol.

Naturally the bonus symbol is the second one to look out for. Once it shows up three times, it will trigger free spins. You might find yourself disappointed when you realize that there are only 3 free spins available, but for every one of them, the first reel is stacked with the boss monster symbols, which means that tentacles will shoot from the back to add more of those to the reel, guaranteeing some nice wins.

And since we’re on the topic, the boss monster symbol (the blue one with five eyes) is arguably the most important one in this slot. It always comes stacked, though it doesn’t necessarily always cover the reels. If it covers the entire first reel during the base game, more boss monster tentacles will show up from the background and will push some monsters off the reels in order to replace them with more boss monster symbols. Usually you’ll get between 1 and 4 of those, but it’s possible to get more, generating higher wins.

During the free spin bonus chances of getting even more extra boss monster symbols on the reels are definitely higher and every now and then the wins will be impressive.

Summary

Yes, indeed, in one of NextGen Gaming’s newest slots, monsters will win you all the cash, hence the name Monster Wins. Every now and then you’ll even get an actual monster win, but those are rare and always involve the boss monster. That means you won’t really care about any other monster than the boss monster, which is a bit of a shame, because they’re all quite adorable.

You’ll need to keep an eye on your budget with this slot, because wins are generally quite small and the smallest bet is $0.40 per spin. Only during free spins, when the boss monster is guaranteed to show up, wins can be over 1,000 times your stake. It helps, however, that the free spins are triggered relatively often, even though you never get more than three at a time.
