About Boom Brothers Slots

Boom Brothers is practically an old NetEnt slot, but it was undoubtedly way ahead of everyone else when it was released. The 3D graphics on offer are incredibly well done and proof why Net Entertainment has become the giant it is today. The gameplay here is a lot of fun as well, though. Not only are free spins on offer, but a mini game can be played to. The three mining dwarf brothers are a little crazy, but they are also very entertaining and this slot really deserves a revival. It can easily keep up with more recent releases by just about any developer.

Graphically speaking this slot is truly a gem. Not only offers NetEnt superb 3D animations here, but the reels are full of details that you really don’t want to miss. The reels themselves, for instance, are actually symbols lined up on chains. Gears move in the corners of the screen and the background is set in the dwarves’ mines. Among the symbols you’ll find stylized metal faces representing the three brothers, a dwarf figure and some mining paraphernalia such as pickaxe, bucket, oil lamp and helmet.

The dwarves make regular appearances as well, whether in the base game on winning spins or during the mini bonus game. They also feature in the 2nd chance spins and you’ll rarely see them do the same thing twice.

This 20-payline slot looks simply fantastic and is easily superior to many slots that came after.

In terms of gameplay, too, this slot is definitely one of NetEnt’s best offerings. The base game rarely gets boring. Apart from triggering the bonus games, you can get a 2nd chance bonus on any losing spin. One of the brothers will appear on the screen and explode between one and three reels randomly by some means. Those reels will then re-spin, which could then potentially end in a winning combination. There’s no guarantee that you will get a win, though.

Then there’s the railtrack feature. Whenever the three railtrack symbols land on a payline on reels 1, 2 and 3, you will trigger this mini game. First all other symbols get exploded out of the way and the three railtracks line up into one actual track. One of the brothers will then drive his cart onto it and reels 4 and 5 will keep spinning. For each additional railtrack symbol, you’ll get a win and it will be aligned with the rest of the track. If you don’t manage to spin a railtrack symbol onto the last two reels (or even one of them), you won’t proceed into the mini game.

If you do proceed to the mini game, you’ll see the three brothers each on their own track. At the bottom of the screen 3 mining carts appear and you’ll have to pick one. They contain one diamond, one gold bar and one ruby, respectively. That gives you equal chances of actually winning either one of the three. Whichever track you complete first by picking the corresponding symbols, the dwarf brother will advance and then mine for your prize. The feature can also be triggered during free spins.

The free spins are triggered by collecting three free spin symbols anywhere on the reels. Once you have three, they all reveal random numbers, which are added up and together show the amount of free spins you’ll receive (between 8 and 50 to start with). During free spins all wins are tripled. That is not true for the railtrack feature, however. Additional free spins can be won with every free spin symbol that lands on the reels. You’ll get one each time. You can retrigger the free spins by landing three more free spin symbols on the reels, though.

Other Slot Machines You Might Enjoy

There’s really very little not to like or even complain about with this slot, definitely one of the better online slots we have played. Sometimes the base game can be slow going. But on the whole the 2nd chance feature hits relatively often and it’s not that hard to trigger the railtrack feature, though you may not always be able to complete the track.

Free spins aren’t easily triggered, but they can be a lot of value when they come around. The game is definitely worth your while and comes with a great RTP. Plus, it’s incredibly entertaining whenever the dwarves show up on the reels or in any feature. You can’t give this one a miss.
