When you base a slot game on a movie or TV show, you want the slot to be recognizable. That’s not always easy, but in the case of Family Guy, IGT has definitely done a superb job. You might as well be watching an episode of the show. The difference is almost negligible. Thus fan will feel right at home with the jokes, the design and the characters. And for everyone who’s never watched the show, let us assure you that the slot reflects it exceedingly well.
Thus you have all members of the Griffin family on the symbols, as well as a few items that feature on the show every once in a while. Supporting characters show up during the bonus games, which is great, because the cast is rather diverse and unique.
The base game alone offers four bonus features which are randomly triggered. You can expect to see them every 20 or 30 spins. But beware of your budget, because that can be easily lost on this medium variance slot.
Bonuses
During the base game four features can be triggered and they are all associated with a member of the Griffin family. When Peter shows up, he’ll fart out some random cash prizes, which can be between 4x to 100x your bet, but is usually on the lower side. Stewie will have his zapper ready and turn 1 to 3 symbols Wild anywhere on the screen. Lois, on the other hand, will turn symbols randomly into Scatters, which can result in winnings of 1 to 1000 times your bet. Lastly, Brian can show up when you have one bonus symbol and makes it possible to trigger the World Bonus with only 1 or 2 bonus symbols on the reels.
The World Bonus feature is triggered when the World Bonus symbol shows up three times anywhere on reels 2, 3 and 4.
You’ll encounter Stewie, who is talking about world domination and asking you to spin the globe. The globe will stop on one of three mini games.
Lois Hot Free Spin Bonus – This is the only Free Spin bonus in the game. It’s definitely not a Free Spin round suitable to be played at work, because it’s definitely on the naughty side of things. Lois shows up as four high-paying symbols. To aid in the seduction, roses, handcuffs, champagne, candles and strawberries also show up on the reels.
You’ll get 10 free spins initially, but Quagmire showing up on the middle reel will award you another 5 free spins. Whenever a Naked Peter shows up on the reels, he’s added to a Wild count at the bottom of the screen. Once you have three for any of the colours, the corresponding Lois symbol will turn Wild. The more Wilds you can create that way, the better your chances at high wins.
The Chicken Fight Bonus – Remember Peter fighting the Giant Chicken? Yeah, that’s the one. You can choose to pick either one as your combatant and then you can see via various clips, who of the two is winning. The fight goes through three rounds and at the end of every round, both get a number of picks. The winner gets the most picks, of course. Then you can take your pick from a number of money sacks. You’ll learn how much you get right away. Also, if your character is the winner of the round, a multiplier gets added, which means your coin wins get multiplied.
At the end of three rounds you’ll learn how much your opponent won and a final winner is determined. The outcome is different every time you end up in this particular game, by the way.
The Drunken Clam Bonus – Peter, Joe, Cleveland and Quagmire are all at the bar. You pick one of them and the drinking commences. You’ll then pick from four beer taps, which award additional coin prizes. If one of the other characters passes out, you get multipliers added on your coin wins. Either you’re the last man standing, or you pass out and thereby ending the feature.

Summary
IGT’s Family Guy slot is hugely entertaining. Even if you’ve never watched the show, the bonus features will certainly keep you hooked. You might even want to check the show out. Thankfully the World Bonus is triggered often enough to keep things interesting, but you can’t count on getting a different feature every time.
The only thing that becomes a little tedious with this slot is the background music. With such a distinctive theme song, you might want to turn the volume down in the end, or you’ll be listening to it in your dreams.
