I really waited for this game on release, since I am a huge fan of the book. And when I first tried it, the surprise was pleasant. The slot looks just glorious when you open it, and the first time I played it, I hit the bonus round in less than 30 spins. The bonuses are fun to play through, and the animations really support the experience.
The winnings are rather high, but the biggest disappointment that I have with this game is that the winnings seem to come rather rarely, which is mainly because the game doesn’t have actual Wild symbols. It is really weird to see a game, where the Wild symbol can’t fill in any winning combination, but it works to some degree.
Bonuses
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde has four bonuses:
- Wild symbols in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are a bit odd, since they aren’t really Wilds in the traditional sense. They can only work as Wilds when they are filling winning combinations for Jekyll symbols or Hyde symbols, but it also triggers some other nice features.
- Free Spins Bonus is triggered in a way that deletes the randomization that is included when you are hunting for Scatter symbols. You will have to gather together 100 red potions in the game (which in a sense is a rather high amount), which will then unlock free spins. They will last for as long as 12 blue potions are gathered.
- Frenzy Bonus is activated when you get a Mr. Hyde symbol on the second and fourth reel, and one Wild symbol in the third reel. During this bonus, you will go around town and you will have to choose the direction you are going. The other direction has a police, which will end the free spins, and the other direction features a coin win. You can get your bet back 66x, if you get to the end!
- Potion Bonus is activated when you get a Dr. Jekyll symbol on the second and fourth reel, and one Wild symbol in the third reel. During this bonus, you will choose ingredients to make an anti-monster serum to beat Mr. Hyde. Speed is the key here, and if you do everything fast enough, you will get your bet back 166x!

Summary
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a modern slot, which features an interesting, well made theme that keeps literature fans excited. The only problem with the game is that they revamped the Wild symbol to now only trigger bonuses and fill for two symbols in the game. The game also fits beginners really well, since it shows really well what a good, modern slot looks like.
