Diamond Dreams is very basic. It simulates the sort of slot machine you would find in 1980s arcades, with three reels and only three symbols showing on each of them. Those arcade slots only had one pay-line, whilst Diamond Dreams has 10, but aside from that and the addition of a wild symbol, everything is as you will remember from days gone by. There are very few symbols and a limited number of winning combinations, but one of them does include a huge prize of 1,000x your line bet.
The graphics are very cartoony and there are no animated buttons or symbols. An interface that looked a little more like the real thing, and maybe an animation of a button being pressed down when you click it, would have been nice, but this is as simple as simple can be, and none of those things are included.
Bonuses
There are no bonus rounds on Diamond Dreams, simply because there are no bonus rounds on arcade slots of old. BetSoft have very much taken this theme and run with it, but rather than praising them for staying true to the thing they are emulating, we are very disappointed in them for taking the easy route. This is a slot that was thrown together in minutes, and one that is not deserved of great praise. It has all the hallmarks of a rushed game, with incredibly simple designs, a cartoony interface and absolutely no impressive features.

Summary
It almost seems unfair to put Diamond Dreams in the same league as video slots and bonus slots and judge them equally, but that’s exactly what we’re going to do, and Diamond Dreams simply doesn’t match up. There are no bonus rounds, no big wins and very few pay-lines. If that’s what you’re looking for then maybe you’ll get a kick out of Diamond Dreams, but in the modern age, when bigger and better graphics and more unique features seem to be at the top of everyone’s agenda, is there really anyone out there looking for this sort of slot?
For us, Diamond Dreams is only worthy of a 5 out of 10. However, if this genuinely is the sort of slot that you enjoy, maybe because you don’t understand bonus slots or you want something quick and easy, then you will almost certainly enjoy it more than we did.
