Visually Betsoft certainly know what they are doing. Some of their slots can feel cluttered, sometimes too dark and a little too much to look at. 4 Seasons is a lot cleaner, which is likely owed to the fact that the symbols are not cluttered with too much detail. The background is especially well drawn and the change of the seasons as the bonus wheel spins along is simply beautiful.
Interestingly the symbols on the reels, the 12 zodiac animals from the Chinese Zodiac, are all worth the same amount of coins. The difference is made thanks to the bonus wheel, which adds multipliers to certain symbols. The slot comes with 30 fixed paylines and a wild that gives you 10,000 times your bet if you get 5 of it. This Maneki Neko cat will truly bring you luck.
Bonuses
In the base game you’ll want to pay particular attention to the small bonus wheel that is sitting in the bottom left-hand corner. All 12 zodiac animals are shown on it and the wheel moves along once every 30 spins. Whichever animal sits in the top spot will get a 10x multiplier applied on all winning combinations it is a part of. The two animals immediately to the left and right will get a 5x multiplier. The next three symbols each have a 2x multiplier attached to them and the remaining three don’t get anything extra on a win.
Additionally the seasons change with every 90 spins and three moves of the wheel. There is no bonus attached to this, it is merely a visual feature, but it’s nicely done.
The slot does feature a free spin bonus as well, of course. You’ll need at least three Yin Yang symbols anywhere on the reels to trigger it. If you get three scatters, you’ll get 10 free spins. Four will bring 12 spins and five scatters come with 15 free spins. During the feature it’s possible to re-trigger free spins by getting three or more additional scatters.
Finally there is a block win feature. Whenever symbols show up in stacks, covering an entire reel, they may form a block in order to bring in extra wins. You need at least two reels to create a block. Consequently a 2x multiplier is applied. Thus a 3-reel block will get a 3x multiplier, a 4-reel block gets a 4x multiplier and a 5-reel block will get a 5x multiplier. It’s not a feature you’ll see often, but 2- or 3-reel blocks are possible every once in a while.

Betsoft has brought us a truly beautiful and innovative slot with 4 Seasons. Visually there’s nothing to complain about here and you’ll be happy to observe the spinning reels and the change of seasons for quite some time. The features hit frequently enough to be worthwhile, which is true for the free spin bonus as well.
Wins will rarely be big and never huge. But they’ll be frequent enough to keep you going, especially when you get a 10x multiplier symbol in a winning combination. Our biggest issue were indeed the slow spinning reels. After a while that became a little mind numbing and you really want to move things along. If you’re happier with a faster pace, this slot won’t be for you.
