Birds! is another beautiful 3D slot from Betsoft and it plays particularly well on a bigger screen, where you can appreciate the graphics accordingly. The birds are all colourful, round and quirky. They each have a different character and will make you smile when they make an appearance on the screen. And they are cute, cute, cute. If the feathery fluff isn’t for you, then you will not like this slot, regardless of its features.
The background music and sounds are light and airy, including sounds of the cityscape, where you will find the birds flying to and fro. Playing Birds! is a little bit like watching a 3D short movie. Regardless of what you may win, you’ll find yourself riveted to the screen and engaged by the little birdies.
Of course, just like its cousin Birds on a Wire, Birds! doesn’t have traditional reels or spinning motions. It also doesn’t have traditional paylines, paying horizontally and vertically, though not diagonally.
Bonuses
Winning combinations are formed by groups of birds (usually at least three) anywhere on the reels, provided that birds are above/below or beside each other. The bigger the group, the bigger the win, of course.
Whenever a group of birds comprises a win, one of them will do a bit of a victory dance and all of them will fly off the wires they’re sitting on, making room for new birds to fly in. This is very much like the avalanche feature that we know from slots such as Gonzo’s Quest. As long as groups of birds form winning combinations, the feature keeps going.
You’ll also notice a meter on the left-hand side that fills up with water for every consecutive win. Once you fill it up completely, the free flights (spins) will begin. You can get between 8 and 22 free spins here.
The slot also has a ‘heads or tails’ gambling feature, which is quite appropriate considering the theme. Here you can double your win, if you choose right.

Summary
Birds! is not a very hard-hitting slot at all, but it’s entertaining as hell and cute and even a little funny, because some of the birds are particularly quirky. They’re proud as anything when they win something for you and you can’t help but appreciate their efforts.
There are not life-altering wins in this slot game, but Betsoft’s creation is utterly charming and the gameplay is engaging enough that you’ll keep playing for quite a while. It’s hard to find anything not to like about this slot. Perhaps the RTP could have been better, but that’s as bad as it gets.
